Guest guest
I am working on an article on vulvodynia. I would like input from all of you on what you think should be included and/or any ideas or info you would like to give me. Of course, this is in confidence. I am working on getting some contacts to help me out in getting it published but if anyone has ideas on that also let me know. I do have a background in writing and, in fact, worked for a newpaper for a few years. As a vulvodynia sufferer I want there to be more knowledge out there and more research. Thank you. Guest guest
Great idea, Diane! I think it's important to emphasize just how many women are afflicted with varying levels of this disorder. People need to be aware that it is not so rare and millions are suffering all around the world and in the US. Perhaps you could use a case study or several personal stories to pull heart strings. Most respond more to a true life example than to abstract medical terms and statistics, etc. Of course, readers should gain a clear understanding that this is a physical disorder. But in addition, make them think about the emotional impact on the women, their sexual partners, and relationships. One more thing to consider is the lack of knowledge in the medical field, the radical variance of protocol in treatment, and the need for more education and research. Just my opinions! I hope you are able to get it published--public awareness is so needed! Becky Bored stiff? Loosen up...Download and play hundreds of games for free on Yahoo! Games.
