I've often wondered if I should get checked for Chlamydia because my husband had it years ago and gave it to his last girlfriend and she ended up being infertile due to pelvic inflammatory disorder. It's definitely something to check out.

Among 45–64-year-old women, chlamydia infections increased by 177% between 1995 and 2003."I think this one is even moreso overlooked than the Trichomonas. I had Trich once and *WHEW* the odor there was NO mistaking it believe me. Phew... No Whiff test needed on that one. Articles say that 50% have no symptoms and 50% have that very strong odor, That was me. That's why it's just so important to rule out 'all' V. infections, not just the basic bacterial or fungal ones (besides the strains or types of yeast). There's Herpes, Chlamydia, Trichomonas, even testing for lactobacilli & if there is an 'over abundance' it might be Cytolytic vaginosis (CV), (an older term was Doderlein's cytolysis. When lactobacilli overgrow, too many acids are produced, causing vulvar irritation and itching. Not enough? We can have a bacterial infection. The pH levels can mean much too to a good physician.
