Guest guest
Hello ladies! My name's Beth, I'm 20 years old and have (officially) been diagnosed with vulvar vestibultis for about 5 months now, but was displaying symptoms before my official diagnosis. I joined the group a little while ago, but was too shy to speak up. I joined, like a lot of you probably did, in search of hope. I've read so many articles saying that it may never be cured, that I'll need surgery, that nobody knows what's caused it or how to fix it (to the ladies, about the possible birth control link, I've been on my current birth control pills for a number of years now and, as I mentioned, have been displaying symptoms for a much shorter time). I'm getting married next year, and while my fiance says that he loves me despite this problem, I can't help but worry, since this isn't fair to him, either. But anyway, my question. I was also wondering, since I haven't seen this mentioned too much, if lidocaine has ever actually helped anyone here. My doctor prescribed the gel to me and told me to apply it every night, and see her in 6 mos. Well, the 6 mos. are almost up, and my symptoms have actually gotten worse-we've added burning now, in addition to entrance pain. Joy. And finally (sorry for the long post!), if anyone's currently living in Indiana, preferably the northern half, and has either seen a good doctor there or knows of any research studies that need participants, please give me a heads-up. The fact that any of us are suffering and left with so many unanswerable questions is rediculous, and I want to help be part of the solution.
