PS..... hon since I've so much info on the Protopic and had that file open.. I wanted to pass this along too JUST IN CASE.....it's suggested to not mix or use Protopic if you also take these drugs and of course we're all so different and never know the complete medical history of anyone...

DRUG INTERACTIONS:

''Based on its minimal extent of absorption, interactions of PROTOPIC Ointment with systemically administered drugs are 'unlikely' to occur but cannot be ruled out. The concomitant administration of known CYP3A4 inhibitors in patients with widespread and/or erythrodermic disease should be done with caution.

Some examples of such drugs are erythromycin, itraconazole, ketoconazole, fluconazole, calcium channel blockers and cimetidine. ''

And the other thing is if a person has known Herpes... since Protopic lowers the immune system it may allow a herpes outbreak just as a weakened immune system allows many other virus's as well to show their face.

Also be esp. careful of those oral antifungals like the Diflucan (fluconazole) and mixing those with erythromycin (an antibiotic) at the same time.... they call it an erythromycin heart attack and while not likely the risk is definitely there.

Dee~ ;)

Thanks Dee, (and Arline for passing the word on)

You are a wealth of information!! I tried the Protopic yesterday for the first time ... I was a little itchy at first and it made the area feel kind of warm like when you use Noxema on your face. Today is much better. I am rather quite comfortable. I have never used Estrace, would that be close to Estriadol? I have a compound of Estriadol and Lidocaine, but he took me off of that for now. I still use Vagifem once a week to get my Estrogen replacement, I had my ovaries removed in 2001. I have three autoimmune diseases, LS, Erosive Lichen Planus, and IC, ... lucky me!

Yes,I do have a great doctor ... I see Dr. Jack Sobel in Detroit. He is extremely kind and compassionate!

Thanks again,

in Michigan
