Guest guest
I have both vestibulitis and vulvodynia. I was diagnosed with vestibulitis but considering I also had ongoing 24/7 burning and unprovoked pain it was clearly also vulvodynia. I am on 100 mg of doxy 2x per day and will be for several months. I am also on diflucan every other day. I have not herx'd too badly yet...I have been on the meds just over two weeks. I have had NO stamina (workouts that were a breeze are difficult to even get halfway through), my skin is very itchy on and off, and my joints are painful and swollen, but nothing like some of the awful stuff I hear people go through. Guest guest
Do you have lyme? How does one get tested for it? I also have vv/vulvodynia/vagunismus/24/7 pain, stinging, and a bruised feeling and occasional itch. What is doxy? Do you find it is working for you? > > I have both vestibulitis and vulvodynia. Guest guest
Hello, I suggest IGenex if your gonna be tested for Lyme. Theres alot of false negatives with the western blot. I also tested negative with the western blot. Go figure im in 3rd. stage chronic Lyme. Thank God for IGenex. Igenix, along with a few other choice labs, are more sensitive in their testing methods for lyme and related coinfections. They specialize in only tick born illness. Instead of just checking the blood under a scope like MOST labs, they additionally have specialized processing and technology to be able to idenitfy DNA bands of the Lyme bugs. faster. http://www.igenex. com/lymeset2. htm Unfortunatly they only take Medicare health Insurance. The basic Lyme test is $395. I just called last week to double check because it was free for me and now my 2 kids are having health problems and by the Lyme check list it's not looking good. > > > > I have both vestibulitis and vulvodynia. Guest guest
What type of test is it for Lyme that you send in to Igenex? Do they do the yeast test also? nne > > I do have Lyme. It is a controversial disease, and in my opinion (I'm not a doctor), Igenex and a few other labs in the US (there's one in Stonybrook, CT) are the only few labs that will accurately test for it. Igenex has a website and you can order a test kit from them. Igenex might also have some ideas about local doctors that they work with that are well-versed in lyme. Doxycycline is an antibiotic used for lyme, I also was put onto daily fluconazole to keep yeast at bay. After five days on the doxy/fluconazole I was pain free for the first time in months. It has been about three weeks and I now occasionally have pain at the end of long, stressful days, but it is lessening. I am continuing with physical therapy, lyme treatment, and the yeast treatment. I also am doing acupuncture and yoga. The lyme test was less than $200, which I think is good to rule it out. > Lindsey > > __________________________________________________ >
