Guest guest
I was just looking over my MedicAlert info packet that came with my new member stuff and found that MedicAlert has travel insurance available for it's USA members. It runs $100 but WILL cover all pre-existing conditions while you are traveling. I thought it might be helpful to anyone here who is thinking of travel out of the USA. Here's a blurb from their website: MedicAlert® TravelPlusSM will: a.. Help you find a doctor when you are out of the country b.. Contact your family members c.. Contribute up to $100,000 towards the necessary expense of evacuation to a qualified hospital or repatriation in a medical emergency d.. Provide 24 hour access to information services including visa, passport and immunization requirements for your destination e.. Provide Coverage even with a pre-existing condition Check out the MedicAlert website for more detailed info. I've never gone out of country but from what others have said it seems to be darn hard to get travel insurance to cover pre-existing conditions. Hope this is helpful for someone out there! Amy G.
