Hi Dee,

I'm on Vermox now but I've heard of PinX... yes, I had them when I was about 4 yrs old I think... my friend across the street kept getting them and passing them on.

I think you're right that they were passed in the urine because they were nearby and got washed away when I urinated... I thought about that too... no, I don't think they are in my bladder. but, they do actually crawl into your vagina sometimes...

"Occasionally the story goes a little differently. Sometimes a child can inhale airborne eggs and become infected that way. Every now and then the eggs will hatch on the skin of the buttocks, and the immature larvae will crawl back through the anus, up into the rectum and eventually arrive in the colon. Also, the eggs can hatch on the skin of girls and the larvae crawl into the vagina instead of the rectum. This happens in up to 20% of girls with pinworms. The vaginal pinworms usually die out with no outside help."

And actually, I had the piece of tape with the eggs on it (an easy test for pinworms) so he didn't actually do a stool test, he went based on that and what I saw in my stools from my cleansing (which involved things like wormwood, cayenne pepper, garlic, etc, to cleanse the GI tract )... there could possibly be another infection, too, like I suspected hookworms but he said it could be but the Vermox kills off all pinworms, roundworms, hookworms so the treatment is the same either way. If I do also have something like hookworm, then the larvae do travel through the other organs to get to the lungs to be coughed up so that could possibly explain larvae in the bladder, I guess. : ) But, I don't know... I'll do the two rounds of Vermox and then he said check the stool to be sure they've gotten them all and do a third round of Vermox if necessary.

"Since the pinworm almost always stays in the gastrointestinal tract or vagina, there is usually no systemic illness. A few children do develop intense nighttime itching of the skin around the anus. Girls who develop vaginal pinworm may experience vaginal itching or a vaginal discharge."

Beats me how I got them... I don't have kids....

PIN WORMS?

HI ...

Gosh I've never heard of pinworms being passed in urine.. are you certain they're just not on the skin (worked their way from the anus) and are there when you urinate and wash away with that?

Anyway it's so fairly common it's not usually thought of as a big deal and there is

a pill to treat/kill pinworms that is used now is called PinX. It's available over the counter at most major pharmacies & pretty cheap.

We sure all had it as kids and I can still remember with me being the oldest of six of us.. helping mom hold the flashlight in the dark and her pulling the PJ's down and spreading butt cheeks (they only come out at night, usually when you're sleeping) to see them and sure enough there they were and itchy as the dickens.

In those days tho we just all ate a few cloves of garlic for a day or two and it definitely got rid of them.... LOL it did. :) Hugs and hope it's not too bad for you.

Dee~
