Guest guest
: I begged my Doctor to test me and treat me for Lyme's Disease when I first developed hives in 1998. I had received some medical flyers in the mail and saw a picture of the rash that sometimes accompanies Lyme's disease. It does look so similar to the hives I was getting. My Doctor said that he had seen Lyme's disease and was convinced that I didn't have it but I was so distraught in his office (crashing off Prednisone) that he conceded. I know now that I didn't have it but at the time didn't want to take the chance and not treat. My understanding is that the rash that develops with Lyme's Disease is isolated to the location of the tick bite. At that time my hives were running the Indy 500 through my system. It was really quite phenomenal to watch. I do believe that it is important to test for it though. You have a window of time to which you can be treated and not suffer the devastating effects of the disease.
