Guest guest
Subject: I have decided I can no longer stand the mess and am going to clear up all my ancient NCT paperwork going back to'92. Can I just junk old minutes/ region posts etc or do I need to shred it like the ANT stuff? Caroline Jersey ------ Well as I understand it, financial records have to be kept for 6 or 7 years, this is a legal requirement. Minutes and a copy of the branch newsletter really ought to be kept for ever, as they are they are the archive of the branch. But only one set needs to be kept in the branch. This is usually held by the Secretary. During my time as Regional Coordinator, the number of Branches who contacted me to find out when their branch was started was stunning. They didn't know because they had thrown all of their records away.
