Guest guest
Hi everyone, I noticed that people were talking about cranberry pills instead of drinking cranberry juice. I work in a Health Food Store and I would like to make some recommendations to those of you that are taking them. Be sure to dring LOTS of water with the pills. The pills are in a concentrated form and in order to get full benefits you need the water. Also be sure that they are standardized so that you know you are getting good quality and every pill in the bottle has the same dosage. If you buy cranberry juice, don't buy the good tasting cocktail version. It is more sugar than cranberry. If you buy pure cranberry juice, you only need about one to two ounces a day. My husband has been dealing with bladder cancer for the past three years and this was a recommendation made to him while in the hospital. How I wish there was something on the market in the vitamin field to help people with SDS. Before my Mom was diagnosed, we thought she had the starting of some form of dementia and so I gave her something called phosphytadel serine or PS as it is known, it definitly helped with her memory but after her diagnosis she went off of her vitamins and any supplements she was taking. She wisely did not want them to interfere with anything that the doctor gave to her. She is not on any meds now but is afraid of trying anything new. Mom has been holding her own for a while now and we are all happy about that. I have to keep reminding her of the importance of water. What a good cleanser for our systems that God gave us. I find my Dad though suffering from burnout and we are at a loss as to what to do. If he is out of Mom's sight she starts to fret. They have a home maker that comes in three times a week and they come to town to visit with their friends and myself once a week. Weekends my brother or I spend time with them but Dad is left to the twenty-four hour a day care. I find he gets short with Mom a lot lately which is not like my Dad at all and Mom has become quite demanding with him. Its a regular circle! Guest guest
Hi Sylvia, Do you or your brother take your Dad out for a day or morning, etc? Just a few hours away can mean a great deal, (I know I'm a caregiver) and if it is possible, will make a great deal of relief for your Dad.
