Hi!

We've made it here in Brazil and it

was a big success. I asked for all

mothers (Dr. 's patients) to do

the foot print with a

photo and a little message. She just

loved it. So, I'd like to take part of

this celebration.

Will there be time enough? Wich would

be my deadline?

Regards from Brazil!

Thank You so much for joining in! I would like to have at least

most of the footprints by May 24th so that I can have at least most

of them in place on the card. However I will not mail it out until

probably May 30th....so if a few footprints cannot reach my by the

24th, I think by the 30th would be okay. As long as I am not

swamped with them at the last minute because it will take some time

to get the card together.

I finally posted Veeti's footprints to you today. It should arrive by

the 24th. It was quite touching to see the footprints myself..

imagine that my son has two normal looking feet.. :)

You can do either both or just one if you wish. I am going to do

both. Maybe you could include a short note with the Drs name also

that treated and the date. I am not sure yet if I will cut them out

or just glue them on. I guess it depends on how many people actually

mail me the prints. I do need to get them soon, hopefully by the

end of this week. My address again is:

No it is not going to be a problem! Whether your baby was treated

personally by him or not, if it wasn't for him I am sure the outcome

would have been very different.

Could you please let me know when/if you receive Veeti's footprints.

I'd like to know that they'll definitely make it to the card. Thanks!

Dear

I'm so pleased that everything is going so well for Connor. It is really

encouraging to hear. My baby was diagnosed with bilateral clubfeet at the 20

week scan and I now have just 2 weeks to go before I am induced. We have

arranged to begin treatment with Mr. De Kiewiet on June 9th in Sunderland if all

goes well and there are no other problems for him/her. That is still my major

worry at this point in time but not long to go now.

I am sure you are heartily relieved to have your little chap with you. The wait

does seem like a long one doesn't it? He certainly sounds like he's doing really

well though. I was interested to hear that your Dr. is doing the tenotomy under

local and not general. I know this is usual in the Ponsetti method, but I was

under the impression it was still quite unusual in the U.K. - Mr. DeKiewiet for

example talked of doing the tenotomy under general. Obviously I would be much

happier if it was a local - I wonder if you have any feed back on this?

Nice to see someone from the UK on this site - I have been reading it avidly

since diagnosis and there has hardly been anyone contributing.

Best Wishes

Hi

I too was diagnosed at ultrasound and it was a complete shock and we were

both really upset. Once we pulled ourselves together things were ok, but yes

it does seem like a long time coming. Connor was late and at 32 weeks they

reckoned he was lying across and I may have to have a caesarian which I didn

t want, then he turned on his own anyway within a few days. Then when he was

late they were on about inducing which again I didn't want and he came on

his own that night. Anyway once they did they checked him over and we

realised that he was not only gorgeous (I know I am biased) but perfect and

his little feet were lovely too, even though they were turned in. I wan't

worried about them from that minute on. To see them so straight last week

after only 3 weeks is wonderful. He only cried on the last cast as she was

manipulating the foot slightly outwards but it was seconds and then he

promptly fell asleep so I assume it was more of a discomfort.

I don't think they use general in Bath. It has never been mentioned. I

wouldn't like him to have general but equally the local is a bit scary too,

I just hope it doesn't hurt, to much. Also as he is getting so big we have

decided to move him out of his moses basket and into the cot before the DBB

goes on.

I am sure once your little one is in your arms all your worries will go.

Good luck.
