Hi,

Ive been suffering for 3 years now and really need to find a specialist in new

york. I'm

currently seeing dr.david baker, and all hes been doing is assigning me

antidepressants

that dont seem to work. In addition, he only sees patients one day a week, and

so its a

pain in the ass to get in to see him. When I do so see him, he just says, things

look ok

down there. Meanwhile, i'm developing rectal burning now as well. I simply need

a change.

I tried PT, not for me. I've heard of monica peacocke, but she doesn't take

insurance, and

on my budget that's a definate no no. So if anyone knows of anyone, let me know!

Symptoms:

painful burning 24/ (primarily internal)...sometimes accompanied by a milky

white

discharge. Sex, is out of the question. Burning is bearable when im not wearing

underwear

or pants.

suffering from external rectal itching as well

Cultures, of course, all clear!

HPV diagnosed, Octoer 05...all paps clear since then...

Thanks,

Hi , Every specialist I have seen in NYC does NOT take insurance. It is sooo frustrating. I have paid about a million dollars in claims and I am still in 24/7 pain. I have tried almost everything these last 10 years. I saw Dr. Glazer, Dr. Peacocke, Pam on, and Dr. Solitar in Manhattan. My PT now at Beyond Basics wants me to see a Dr. Coady ( gyn), but she, too, doesn't take insurance and since I have been seen by over 100 doctors ( 6+ derms, 20+ gyns, and various other specialties) I don't think it would be profitable to see her. Has anyone else on this list seen a Dr. Coady in Manhattan? If you live anywhere near Hartford you could try seeing Dr. Benson Horowitz. He is a yeast /vv expert and he takes insurance. Might be worth a shot. People do come from all over to see him. He diagnosed me with a rare yeast, but treating it with numerous

antifungals only made it not culture out but my pain remained. Good luck! Love, Sandi __________________________________________________

Dr. Benson Horowitz actually passed away this past summer...he was who I was trying to get in to see- I found this out when I called to make an appt. with him and felt like an a**hole when the receptionist said "i'm sorry he actually just passed away".....so I now see Dr. Gerard Roy in New Britain, CT, whose receptionist said that he has taken over many of Dr. Horowitz's old patients...he is not specifically a VV specialist, but instead a vaginitis specialist- however, I have found him to be extremely caring and compassionate and keeps reassuring me that we are going to figure this out. He also seems to know a decent amount about VV.Sandi Sharp wrote: Hi , Every specialist I have seen in NYC does NOT take insurance. It is sooo frustrating. Hi , Are you sure Dr. Benson Horowitz passed away this summer??? CT had 2 vv experts in Hartford. Dr. Horowitz was the yeast specialist and Dr. Gibbons was the kindest gyn anyone could ever have who was willing to do whatever it took to get better. I saw both of them. Dr. Gibbons was like a father to me. I still have moments when I can't believe he has passed away. But I didn't know that Dr. Horowitz passed away this summer too. What are the odds that CT's 2 vulvar specialists pass away the same summer? I hope you got them confused and that Dr. H is still practicing. Please let me know if it is possible that he is still practicing. Love, Sandi __________________________________________________
