Hi Tami, Good for you for finding out about the Lyme. I have a question, what neurological issues did you have before finding out that you had Lyme? Did you have a bad memory then? I guess I'm wondering what your symptoms were in third stage chronic lyme? I got tested through Igenex, just to rule it in or out (yes, I know that's not possible, really) and I haven't received an answer yet. I grew up in rural missouri and remember being bitten by ticks all the time and because there is pelvic pain in my history, I thought I should get tested. Especially because my memory seems to be getting bad. Is it just age? I don't know. Why do many other people with my same history and anatomy not end up with pelvic pain? And while I'm so thrilled that I have it under control and truly have a pain free and normal life, will it come raging back if I fall off a horse or have a car accident?

Just some thoughts that I've been having lately. I took 200mg. of doxy. in the morning and 200mg. of Doxcy. at night. The first freaken day by the end all my pain was gone!I continued that pace for 3 days and I went from 240mg. of Moriphin to

none! All though I had a great 3 days I knew at that pace I would soon run out of antibiotic. I went to my Dr. and showed him my info. on the dosage for chronic Lyme patients and that I really should be on I.V ABX than doxy. but was really pushing for the Doxcy. to be raised he wouldnt. I cant believe a Dr. would rather have a patient on large amounts of narcotics that by the way dont take away all the pain and make me sick than raise my antibiotic's and stop the narcotics. So now my fight is for proper antibiotic dosage for my chronic lyme. Um yes I had vaginal sex pain free and it was great. A little tight after 8 years of no sex due to the chronic pelvic pain but great other wise. I'll keep you all updated as I Go. Sandi my other Lymie sister keep up the fight girl. hope you read this. Tami, I am so thrilled to hear your great news and wish you luck on getting that propper dosage. How wonderful that you have finally hit on it, but such a shame that it is still a fight with these doctors. I have so many questions for you. What are you taking for Lyme in addition to the doxy? ARe you taking antifungals? Samento? My doc wants to add Benicar to make it more effective. Are you taking that as well? ALso, I am deathly afraid of tkaing antibiotics for 2 reasons. The first is b/c they always make me soooo much worse that I need to go to the ER for morphine and never know if the antibiotics are working and causing me to herx or if they are causing my rare resistant yeast to run rampant. Are you afraid of yeast? Did you ever have a bad response - increase in pain- when you took antibiotics in the past? Did you herx at all

I am in the same situation as you....currently my rx is only for 100 mg Doxy 2

times per

day...I also have had Lyme for for a long time and am pretty sure I'm in the 3rd

stage. I

know I need to be on at least double this dose. Dr. Metzger has me on this dose,

and when

I mentioned last time to her that I wanted to up it she told me to take Cat's

Claw...I am

thinking I need to push a little harder.

200 mg is enough to make me herx and stir it all up and feel worse but not

enough to

really do anything...

That is so great about your pain free days!!! Man, even to have a day or 2

without this pain

would make me really happy.

Have you been taking cat's claw as well?
