Greetings Itzak!

Itzak, I was wondering that myself. I seem to have the cerebellar form of

this. I also get the sudden weakness. I will also be interested in the

responses from others. It's an odd feeling. Not that my muscles are weak.

It seems more as if the signals are not getting through. I have to think

harder about controlling my arms and legs.

By the way, for me, this seems to come when I get overwhelmed with visual or

oral sensation. It usually accompanies increased termors and muscle

cramping. Wonder if it's another sign of an overloaded system.

Wish I had some answers. But thanks for asking the question. Asking is

good.

By the way, I am also 44 with two children in their teens. So I understand

your father's side of this.

and Itzik,

Just before she quit driving, Charlotte got the feeling that the road was

closing in on her. She could not stand to be near a Jersey Wall or even the

barrels (even as a passenger). She also seems to have the OPCA form of MSA. As

you say, it may be some form od overload of things to sort out all at once.

Later, her balance went completely. She no longer seems to have that extreme

fear of the road closing in, but she can not walk either.

When she is tired (later in the day), she does get uncontrolled shaking an

wobblely if she stands even for a minute while we adjust the brief. Remember

that you must concentrate on one task at a time, can't chew gum and stand up at

the same time. All the things that you did without thinking are now major tasks

and must have full concentration.

You also have the problem of the knees starting to fold; the foot drop and the

bending forward at the waist. All of them make standing harder. I can not

stand if I try to go from a sitting position to a standing position with my toes

pointed down. :o) I never was a ballet dancer :o)

Keep exercising to keep that movement.

Take care, Bill and Charlotte

This happened to me last year in December I actually started just

suddenly falling down. For me that was the being of Parkinsonism,

I progressively got worse then they started me on Mirapex in March

and I finally got back up and moving by the end of March and

released to drive again, later we had to add a little Sinemet and

Amatadine but all is well! I can type again, write again, walk

again, my balance returned and I am a happy camper now!
