Guest guest
Just cause I haven't been here, don't think I don't think about you guys. I thought of you just recently Cheryl when I was helping my daughter glue together her project at the last minute. I hope your children are doing great. And Marsha, I had a popping noise occur out of the blue the other week & my thoughts were... I hope that wasn't a screw! My mind flashed back to all your posts when you had the screw removed. (I think mine might have been a sharp point on my joint that finally got ground off.) I now have some sound on that side though. But since I have no pain, I will wait til May when I'm supposed to see the surgeon for the last time. And Irish, since my face was longer by a bit on one side I seem to have more skin on one side of my face which pushes my upper lip a tiny bit over to the right which then makes it look like my midline isn't lined up. But it is if you look at my nose & the middle of the forehead. The extra skin is also bunching up just enough for me to occassionally bite it. If I hold that sides lip even with the other then I don't bite it even if I try. I'm gonna see if they can take it up on the inside of my mouth. Cause if you recall I laughed about there being two different people stitching up either side of my mouth. One side did a smooth stitch which I liked best at first but I kept biting that side of my cheek, the other bunched the extra skin up & it was knarly feeling to begin with but now it has all been absorbed & I can't even feel where I was stitched. I have no problem with that side of my mouth. It is weird that the stitch technique they did which I liked first is the one I dislike now. It would be nice if I didn't bite my lip. As for my lip being pushed over a bit, no one can notice it except me since it's just 2 mm's. I'm really happy with the end result. I've gotten used to my new look. My mouth feels normal inside (except when I swallow a pill- still can't get used to swallowing uphill! - for anyone who reads this that doesn't know me the docs put the jaw higher at the back than at the front so my chin wouldn't stick out too much.) I absolutely love that I breathe through my nose now! I still breathe through my mouth at night but at least my jaw doesn't hang open so wide anymore. My gummy look is gone & I couldn't be happier. Getting rid of the gummy look & the welfare of my joints & the mouth breathing were my main concerns when I went into this. Most if not all of that is taken care of. If only I'd known I could get this done earlier on. Would have definitely taken care of all of this at a much earlier age. Georgia
