People who take the narcotics for short term are not chronic pain patients. And this is why it's very easy for them to run in to that situation of getting a " high " (the euphoric feeling, the buzz). And it's b/c of people like this that chronic pain patients like you and me are so often stigmatized for being on the meds so that we can function with this disease we live with: chronic pain. Also, the definition of what is considered to be chronic pain has now changed in the past year. It used to be defined as pain that stayed for 6 months or longer. That has changed. It is now pain that has stayed for 3 months or longer. Sorry you had a rough day hun. I can empathize.
