Guest guest
Western Mass is not a bad place to be for v pain, actually. I used to live in Providence, RI. In Boston (and W. Roxbury, I believe), there is the big expert, , and Dr. Marjorie Green is in Boston at Mt. Auburn. Dr. was the first doc I saw for this a few years back and at that time I needed more of a bedside manner than she could offer. You might take a look at her book... I do believe she's knowledgeable and she's a big believer in trial and error with meds until you get one you can tolerate. But she was, for me, a bit cold as a first provider. I've heard really good things about Dr. Green. I wound up seeing Dr. Lori Boardman in Providence and really liking her, though she was really overbooked and harried. Still, she was knowledgeable and kind. In NH, Dr. Lynette Margeson is a dermatologist/vulvar specialist... I recall Dr. mentions her in her book. I personally could not have been helped by lidocaine alone. I was helped by meds and surgery. But it did take A LOT of trial and error with the meds because of side effects. This is where you need a vulvar specialist... They will know what meds might be more tolerable for you. Lyrica and Cymbalta, for example, are newer drugs that women seem to tolerate better. On the non-drug front... There are 2 great physical therapists in MA: Holly Herman in Cambridge and Racquel Perliss in Wellesley. Good Luck! Hang in! Lia > > Hello everyone. I am new to this group. Guest guest
, You will like Dr. Birenbaum. She is a no-nonsense and very knowledgable doc. She's the big brain around here. She also has access to Lynn Margusen (who I finally see this Friday woohoo). She is thoughtful and takes her time. She will research something she isn't sure about. I think you'll like her. Guest guest
Dawn, Oh my gosh, it's finally this friday!? I know how long you have waited and I am very excited for you! If things don't start working for me around here I may just look into making a few trips to some of the farther away doctors and Dr. Birenbaum is one I am considering. Definitely let me know how things turn out! Dawn wrote: ,You will like Dr. Birenbaum. She is a no-nonsense and very knowledgable doc. She's the big brain around here. Guest guest
GO GO GO - look at their website. You are lucky to have this in your area! I didn't even know it was there! Why are these medical services so hard to find! Women are suffering and will travel anywhere to find help. I live in MA and have been going the specialist route. Too much to recant in this email, but you can email me privately. nne > > Hello everyone. I am new to this group.
