Guest guest
We are expecting a baby August 7th that will have bilateral clubfoot. I did not see anyone in Alabama certified. Is there an updated list? Does anyone know of anyone nearby? We are willing to travel for the best care.
Guest guest
The closest Ponseti method certified doctors to Alabama that we are aware of are in Atlanta. It is possible that they may be aware of doctors in Alabama who are beginning to use the Ponseti method. T. It is possible that some of them are using it but we would encourage you to ask Dr. Ponseti for a reference. Dr. J. Doyle Birmingham Dr. T. Killian Birmingham Dr. L. Buckley Huntsville Dr. J. Ruda Maxwell AFB Dr. R. Dempsey Mobile Dr. M. Hannon Mobile Dr. Prasit Nimityongskul Mobile http://www.posna.org/FindAMember/MemberList.asp?State=AL It is also possible that there are some podiatrists in your area who are beginning to offer the Ponseti method although we are not sure exactly how to find them and know about their level of experience. I am aware that some of our local podiatrists have begun offering the Ponseti method although because of current referral networks with pediatricians they may not see as many clubfoot children as ped orthos. The American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons endorsed the Ponseti method about a year and a half ago as indicated at their web site at http://www.acfas.org/prinfantclubfoot.html That study was prepared by Dr. Colburn, a podiatrist who is on Dr. Ponseti's list of qualified doctors in the method. At their web site the ACFAS lists about 34 podiatrists in Alabama. and (3-17-99) > We are expecting a baby August 7th that will have bilateral > clubfoot. I did not see anyone in Alabama certified.
