Guest guest
Hi Colleen congratulations on your son's success. About Amino Acid supplementations, who prescribed them(DAN) or you bought them on your own? Is it true that they can also improve the low muscle tone, I thought that it can not be changed. thanks Archana
Guest guest
Archana, My DAN prescribed and it really isn't a prescription, as what I give my son is all over the counter supplements. I am alos giving him egg white protein from health food store, just to " slightly " increase his protein intake, his blood work showed very low levels of amino acids that are essential for muscle production, such as methionine, alanine, lysine, cysteine, plus so many more. And yes, in my son's case we did improve his muscle tone 100% with the addition of amino supplements. You must read and read and read, these kids are able to overcome this. I guess I am at an advantage with my background in medicine/nutrition, but the info is out there for all. I would suggest reading up on whey protein, and egg white protein. The immune enhancing properties of whey protein as a supplement (as long as there are no dairy allergies, then egg protein is a better choice) This is not medical advice, just from a mom that tried and have seen the tremendous improvements. We also take ASD-PLEX from hopewell it is a multi-vitamin with small amounts of basic amino acids incorporated it the formula, that was recommended to us from our DAN.
