Guest guest
Steph, Have your doctors ruled out pudendal nerve entrapment? when i went to my doc yesterday i asked him about that as a possibility for me and he said no because with that the pain/symptoms tend to be moreso on one side only (as mine is not).Steph wrote: Hi ladies,I've been to many doctors, was negative on the q tip test etc. Myproblem is that my pain is only on one side, located in one labia. Sometimes it feels numb, sometimes itchy sometimes just tight.Does anyone know what this could be? Muscular or neurological? Mydoctors are stumped. Any imput would be so apprieciated.Steph __________________________________________________

Guest guest
I think PN can absolutely be bilateral. I know mine was. I only had PN actually on my right side, but my left side sure did hurt too.solittletimeleft wrote: Hi - I have one sided pain also, and have diagnosed myself (while waiting for my dr.'s appointment) as it being pudendal nerve neuropathy. Guest guest
Hi. I'm relatively new to the group and am curiuos about other's experience with pudendal neuropathy. I've had pain for the last 2 years or so. It was originally diagnosed as lichen planus, but the LP has been really successfully treated. Now I just have peri-clitoral pain which makes sitting terrible. My docs think it is pudendal neuropathy. Thus, I've given up work for now as I have a desk job. I've been incredibly frustrated and depressed because for the past two years I've tried just about every drug there is and PT... and nothing seems to get rid of the peri- clitoral pain. I'd really like to go back to my job soon. My question is this... I have an appointment in January with Drs. Mark Conway and Quesada in New Hampshire for a pudendal nerve block. I'm wondering if anyone has had experience with this or knows anyone who has. I'm frightened about doing it... any very pessimistic about the likelihood of it working. Does anyone have a positive story about the nerve blocks or other treatment for PN that they could share????? I could really really use one to make me optimistic about the block. Christmas at my in- laws with this is no fun... especially since I can't explain myself... and with them all wondering why we don't have kids yet. Thanks!! > > Hi ladies, > > > > I've been to many doctors, was negative on the q tip test etc. My > > problem is that my pain is only on one side, located in one labia. > > Sometimes it feels numb, sometimes itchy sometimes just tight. > > > > Does anyone know what this could be? Guest guest
Hi , I haven't talked to you in a while...how have you been???? Did they treat you for lichen planus since we last talked? How did your docs determine that you have pudendal neuropathy? Any tests or was it just a lot of ruling out? Is it the same thing as pudendal nerve entrapment? I asked my doctor about that the other day but he doesn't think I have it...although he did mention something about in the future possibly doing some nerve blocks if we can't figure things out with less invasive measures. What does your clitoral pain feel like? Mine's like someone is squeezing it making it ache (when i sit), usually about a 3-4 on a scale of 10...when i stand or sit on the very edge of my chair i'm usually ok. > > > Hi ladies, > > > > > > I've been to many doctors, was negative on the q tip test etc. My > > > problem is that my pain is only on one side, located in one > labia. > > > Sometimes it feels numb, sometimes itchy sometimes just tight. > > > > > > Does anyone know what this could be? Guest guest
I believe that you do have PN, especially because you can't sit. Why wait until it gets terrible to call it what it is? I had two pn blocks. I believe that they did help me, but only in that they helped me to be able to tolerate more invasive PT. I also know that if I had decided PT wasn't for me with any of the first SIX PTs I went to, that I would not be well. It was only after seeing yet another PT and doctor that I knew there was hope for me. I hope that you will join the happypelvis group as there is of course much talk of PT and PN and clit pain. It seems many have gotten well from the clit pain and others are struggling through. love, Molly http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/happypelvis/emsuc02 wrote: Hi ,I haven't talked to you in a while...how have you been????
