Guest guest Posted April 6, 2005 Report Share Posted April 6, 2005 From the irs.gov website: " Nonprescription Drugs and Medicines Except for insulin, you cannot include in medical expenses amounts you pay for a drug that is not prescribed. " Meaning, if take insulin sans prescription (as it seems many here do) you can still deduct it as part of your medical expenses.
