Guest guest
Hey Y'all, It's my first week of Taxol, and I'm having lack of appetite as a side effect. For those who know me, this is unprecedented. I'm an eater. I've had the joint pain - that pretty much went away after three or four days. Luckily, the onc was free with the painkillers. And, my right foot is a little numb. But this eating thing - did anyone else have that? If it could just hang around for about 60 pounds, that wouldn't be all bad. Or, is it just that the steroid hunger wore off, and this is normal, but feels weird because that steroid hunger is a bugger. I was up to about two huge bags of salad a day just to keep the hunger at bay. Also, my skin looks great. I can go out without concealer. Hat and stiff shirt to conceal the lack of boobage, but no make-up. I tried drawing in my eyebrows, but I just looked like Joan Crawford (sadly, the later years). Also, let's be frank, I'm not missing the body hair. And, Aunt Flo is goooone. Not so bad. I'm rambling. I've always been scattered, but now I have chemo to blame. Take care everyone. I think of all of you at night, when I am doing those essential Mom activities when everyone is asleep (and watching DVDs while sorting Legos from Duplos). You are this human safety net, and I am very grateful.
