Guest guest
Hi Debby, You mean to tell me there are over 400 people who could print using your printer. You need to add more printers to your computer -- just kidding. I know that is quite a pain. One person in a company I worked for put an " In Basket " by the printer with a sign. Any print out not picked up by 4 PM get tossed out. It took a few days for people to catch on but soon they didn't leave their print outs hanging around for long. Just exactly how did you lose those documents ? Did they some how get deleted or have they been renamed or the extension changed from .doc to .xxx Ken M " Debby " on 02/20/2001 03:17:17 PM Please respond to RSS-Support To: RSS-Support cc: Subject: Re: Hi Guys: CHAT Hi I'm still sitting here at work stewing. Yest I can get copies, but the inputting!! I would be upset if, say my computer crashed, etc. but to know that the principal had numerous memos regarding this issue and neglected to tell us...burns me. I'm considering how to access you guys here. Hey! They don't value the effort I put into my job, so...........now when we have scheduled chats during my work day.........I can be here. Even better??? Every computer in the school is hooked up to MY PRINTER!!! Who is going to be responsible for delivering every body's mail??? I am so so so so so so so so so so MAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Every kid who prints in the school (400) will go through my computer!!!! OK enough complaining. I need to get out of this joint!! Guest guest
Hi Ken Ha I'm still at work, I think this is nifty. I'm calling everyone in to see " my friends " LOL What happened was the school board decided to network all the computers in the school and provide email and internet access at once. So they have been wiring the school for months. On Thursday it was announced the " guys " were in to install the new hardware and we were forbidden to turn on our computers. I ran at lunch to get disks to download files I needed to work on before today (when we'd be allowed to turn them on again). I asked this " guy " if my files were OK and he said yes. Meanwhile, they wiped out the whole system. Installed new windows program (eg. when you delete now, there is no trash bin to retrieve from...it's gone forever!) and we were using Word Perfect and now have Mircosoft word. So the hard drive was wiped clean and new programs installed. In fact we are not even allowed to install our own programs on this computer unless " board " approved. What sent me into the hemisphere was the 15 memos we found today that the principal had, to tell us to back up all our files onto disks. That is what has me so burned. She knew but didn't tell us. Forget the guy who told me it would be OK. Ah it's a mess. And this *** printer keeps kicking off every 2 seconds (I don't know how I'm going to teach this way!) But such is the life in this techno. world!!!!!! PS when the principal decided my printer should be the main printer for every computer in the school, it was because she didn't want the office one going off all day!!!!!!!!! Nice eh?? Anyway, way off topic, I'd email you privately but I haven't figured out how to do that yet from work (I'm working from the main yahoo page) and I haven't found the spell check for my mails either.
