Guest guest
you would not take two steriods at the same time. No, it is not from prolonged, just the reaction of the body which I was warned this was a possibility. The only three possibilities at my age to have rapid onset are blunt trauma, steriods or not enough estrogen (this one male and female) >From: nc2406@... >Reply-To: NaturalThyroidHormones >To: NaturalThyroidHormones >Subject: Re: eye issue >Date: Thu, 23 Sep 2004 22:59:32 EDT >'t that usually from prolonged use? how long had you been using it? and did you take it in conjunction with hydrocortisone? cindi

Guest guest
Duh. I was also going to tell you about my doggie. He's on feldene - a non steroidal anti inflammatory with anti cancer properties. The feldene is drying out his eyes so now he's on eye drops. The Dr thinks the feldene is the only thing keeping him going at this point. (Don't think I posted this - a few weeks ago I took him in for a urine test. His urine is still normal which the Dr doesn't want. But sadly there were cancerous cells in his urine so the cancer is back. The Dr said the tumour could be very small. So I'm going to spoil and love him as much as I can while I have him. ) That reeks though - one med causes a severe side effect. The eye drops seem to help though. Louise PS Happy birthday !!!!!!!! > for those of you that knew I was seeing a DR today about rapidly declining eyesight, they feel it is from the much needed use of Florinef a mild type of steroid, Severe rapid cataract. Guest guest
Jamy you are a genius! I just recently started using some Oestrogel as I had several symptoms of low estrogen. My eye sight has been getting rapidly worse the past three months. I have already in ONE week seen some improvement! And yes, I counted flying pigges last night till I finally fell asleep around 11:45 PM. But at least with this added Estrogen, I am sleeping through the night once i get to sleep! This is a gretaimprovment over the 3-4 times waking during the night I was doing. No more night sweats! Artistic Grooming Hurricane, West Virginia --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Guest guest
Jamy, The mineral corticoid used just for replacement purposes without OD shouldn't have caused this. Did they do a rose bengal stain, a slit lampp test?? > for those of you that knew I was seeing a DR today about rapidly declining eyesight, they feel it is from the much needed use of Florinef a mild type of steroid, Severe rapid cataract. Guest guest
I was given a long paper that shows any steroid can cause cataracts, liver, etc. The package even says cataract. Guest guest
they say that the type is very hard and the border around it is compromised and may not form the right tissue scar that will hold the synthetic lens in place or something like that. They did a conference call with my endo and I today. If I stop the Florinef, I could die, if I don't that is an issue too. Thyroid disease can cause connective tissue issues which is the same issue with the eye. eye issue > for those of you that knew I was seeing a DR today about rapidly declining eyesight, they feel it is from the much needed use of Florinef a mild type of steroid, Severe rapid cataract. Guest guest
glad you are doing better!!!!!! Some people use a bit at morning and at night. I use a low amount just in the morning.( less than 1/2 stick, more like 1/4) I just want to end the fatigue. . That is when I know that is my dose. Re: eye issue Jamy you are a genius! Guest guest
Absoultely any steriod can cause cataracts. However, I guess what I am trying to say is that if you are replacing only what you are missing it shouldn't....just like thyroid hormones can cause heart problems but if you are only taking what you should, it shouldn't be a problem. So, is it possible that you are taking more than the proper dose for you? People with addisons who have to be on both hydrocotisone AND florenef because they are missing both have their doses monitored. In most cases they have zero production before the florenef is replaced, because it causes changes in bp, blood volume, etc. I hear ya, because lots of people who take steriods for uvietis control end up with cataracs instead...and its a major reson (with diabeties) that I have avoided taking steriods for as long as possible. I'm glad they looked for the uveitis in your case, good docs! > > for those of you that knew I was seeing a DR today about rapidly > declining eyesight, they feel it is from the much needed use of > Florinef a mild type of steroid, Severe rapid cataract. Guest guest
I am on a very low dose of Florinef to keep my blood pressure and renal issues I guess at bay. I also eat a lot of salt to help. They said low estrogen, or steriods were the main cause aside from some major chemical issue which has never happened to be the issue. Now that I have seen a specialist, he is sending me to a cataract specia;ist. > >Reply-To: NaturalThyroidHormones >To: NaturalThyroidHormones >Subject: Re: eye issue >Date: Sat, 25 Sep 2004 17:57:35 -0000 >
