Guest guest
I am going to the San Francisco Fertility Science Center. There are offices in San Ramon and Orinda. Dr. Wellman has performed over 200 myomectomies. She'll be performing mine on June 16th.
Guest guest
Thanks for your advice. I'm very torn between two options: hysterectomy and doing nothing. Sounds odd to be at these two extremes, doesn't it? But I'm in no pain. I have no bleeding. No awareness of the fibroids. If I were ten years older, doing nothing would be the plan of action, so to speak. But this came on suddenly and my doc has warned me that sometimes this is a sign of cancer. Not much risk, maybe 1/100, but when I weigh--.1% chance of cancer vs. serious surgery, it's a real tossup. Debra.

Guest guest
>sometimes this is a sign of cancer. Not much risk, maybe 1/100, but when I >weigh--.1% chance of cancer vs. serious surgery, Debra, I'm not sure of the actual figure but I thought the chance of fibroids being malignant cancer is WAY lower than that. Perhaps a detailed mapping of your fibroids and getting a scan will help define what the real risks are of your condition. Concentrate on facts. If a doctor says that you have a high risk of cancer, ask about the facts that corroborate this. Effie. _________________________________________________________________ Tired of spam?
