Guest guest
I am a strong believer in everyone being allowed to have their views and express those views, but I would like to put my hand up as a supporter of vaccines. To those of you who don't believe in them, have you ever seen a child with whopping cough? It is one of the most heart breaking, distressing thing to see and hear. If that vaccine was the cause of my CU I would gladly having CU rather than whopping cough. I have had insulin dependant diabetes (juvenile onset) for over 20 years and have NEVER heard anything suggesting vaccinations as a cause. If it was I would have thought that any vaccination I have had since getting diabetes would have thrown my blood sugar levels way out of control. I can happily say that it has not been the case. Polio is starting to make a come back (as is TB in the UK) but it is belived that this is due to people who havn't been vaccinated travelling to countries that don't have a vaccination program. They then get this disease, bring it back into the country and pass it onto people who haven't been vaccinated (as they usually believe that it is not necessary). I haven't heard of an increase in the incidence of these diseases being caused by the vaccinations. That reminds me, I'm just about due for a tetanus booster and when I travel I take whatever vaccinations are being dished out - prevention is better than cure. Guest guest
Yes you're right, TB is rearing its ugly head again here in the UK and unvaccinated schoolchildren are becoming the prime victims. Thats the problem - I do respect everyones right to choose - but when you have to make choices for your child its a heavy responsibility. We will soon have a generation of young parents who have never seen anyone suffer with whooping cough, measles, mumps etc. and the danger is in trivialising these diseases. Those of us who have experienced them and nursed suffering children know this is not the case. > I am a strong believer in everyone being allowed to have their views and > express those views, but I would like to put my hand up as a supporter of > vaccines. > > To those of you who don't believe in them, have you ever seen a child with > whopping cough?
