Guest guest
You should be able to rent one through a physical therapist for about fifty dollars a month. You should only need it for a few months. If you are a candidate for biofeedback then you are a candidate for PT too. I believe that biofeedback was a huge part in my getting well. I was able to lower my resting tone through practice with the machine and also through physical therapy. love, Molly where do you live? wrote: HI All,Does anyone here have a biofeedback machine that they are no longer using and wish to rent/sell? I was told at my pain clinic that I am a good candidate for biofeedback.I guess normal resting tone is between 1 and 3, and I am just over 6.The only option the clinic has offered me, is to purchase a machine from a company in another province, for close to $500. I am a student and I just don't have the money to buy a new machine right now.If anyone has info on where to get a cheaper one, or if you are looking to sell, please let me know.I think the one they used in testing was from Thought Technology - the U-Control sEMG.Thanks in advance, __________________________________________________

Guest guest
Hey, I just had my pelvic floor tested today and will be starting on the biofeedback too. The nurse told me the machines were $350 to buy and $90/month to rent... that's the biofeedback unit that she recommended. I didn't ask about others. Does anyone know if insurance might cover it? I have Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Re: Biofeedback machine? You should be able to rent one through a physical therapist for about fifty dollars a month. You should only need it for a few months. Guest guest
I'm just curious Molly... what was your resting point...I think I tested at 1.6 so that's not too bad. I could tense my muscles and hold it at about 7.5 I believe. But, the more I did the pelvic exercises the more tired my muscles got, too. ; ) Re: Biofeedback machine? Guest guest
Oh my. One of my goals is to get to a resting rate of 5 or so and then down to 1.5 or 2. When I first went to the pt, my resting rate was over 15mA. That's when I had just vulvar burning 24/7. The regimine of 60 kegels helped bring that down alot and the majority of the burning had eased. I had started working on adding the second set of kegels, but ended up with a huge flare for some unkown reason. I haven't been able to do much at this point. I was tested for yeast 3x in the past 8 weeks. The last one was positive and this time, the diflucan seems to be helping.
Guest guest
It is likely you were doing too many kegels. Typically, kegels are not recommended for pelvic pain. Try skipping the kegels and just using the biofeedback to relax. love, MollyDawn wrote: Oh my. One of my goals is to get to a resting rate of 5 or so and then down to 1.5 or 2. Guest guest
Molly, The only way I was ever able to get my rate down, was if I did the kegels. I tried seeing what my resting rate was without the kegels, and it was always much higher if I didn't do them. I had been experiencing pain and discomfort for over a year and a half before I saw the right doc that sent me to the pt. Besides, the Glazer protocol recommends 2 60 kegel sessions a day, 10s on/ 10s off. It just takes time for me to learn to relax. If I try and just use the biofeedback, it doesn't come down. I'm like that in other ways. The only way for me to feel no anxiety and allow myself to relax is with a good bike ride or physical labor. I haven't had either in a long while. thanks
