Guest guest
I just read this over. my Lord!! we sell the drops.....when we had them,- for $8.75 per bottle----60 ml per bottle.-that's normal-average. They sure did see you coming .Did you drive up in a limo?? :) Really I am so sorry you have had this problem. I get so soap box attitude when I hear these things UGHHHHHHHHHHh. call If I can help. LOVE GRDMBEV Re: ADEKs infant drops That is for each bottle of liquid infant drops. Do they make a chewable that I could half for my 6 month old? I grind the over the counter ones with a mortar and mix it with baby food. She loves that, but will not take the drops in any shape form or fashion. Guest guest
I don't know how this works, but we get a bottle of ADEKS free through the CF Pharmacy with each bottle of enzymes we purchase. So far we have had to pay nothing for the enzymes either through the CareFirst program (which covers children w/cf up to age two - no income limit restrictions). After turns two there is another program they have that will reimburse you your co-pay for your enzymes - I forget what it is called. For all of you having trouble with this definitely check it out, the number is 1-. If this does not help I know GrandmomBev will have some insight on what else can help. Sincerely, Mother of 11 mo wcf

Guest guest
I'm a little late responding as I'm way behind on my email but we put the liquid vitamins in JC's first morning bottle of formula (along with his salt). He never seemed to mind the taste in his bottle but it was a struggle to give him the drops directly into his mouth. We are weaning from the bottle (and the breast) right now so we have to figure out another way to get the vitamins in him. Angie (mom to JC, 14 months, wcf) ADEKs infant drops > How do you get a baby to take those? I have tried and tried and Patti won't take them. It doesn't matter what I hide them in either. She wasn't running low on K when they did her blood levels so the doc. said she could take half of a crushed Centrum chewable since that is all I could get her to take. They would prefer her to be on the adeks, but I'm not going to fight with her and risk her aspirating it. It's too bad I can't get it in a gel cap form in an appropriate dosage. Thanks to some one's tip about giving the capsule whole with a bottle, it would be easy to give her the vitamin that way too. It seems like they could make that stuff taste at least tolerable. :-) Oh well. I was also appalled at how much the stuff cost. Our insurance doesn't cover vitamins and when I expressed concerns about cost to the doc. and nutritionist they were like $15.00 isn't that much to pay. I guess it isn't to them, but they don't have four small kids, one fixed income, two lengthy hospital stays to pay for (one P > OK. I'm better now. I just needed to vent and give a primordial scream. Guest guest
YOU are so right .we have that too and it is very popular. Thanks for the info LOVE, grandmomBEV Re: ADEKs infant drops Hi there, I'm rather new to this place and just came across this message while browsing around. My son (2 yrs) used to be on ADEKs but is now taking a regular children's chewable due to his personal needs, but I remember how tough it was at 7 mos to get him to take it. However, there have been other medications since then that tasted awful and I searched and search online and found FlavorX.com. Have you ever heard of that? Anyway, we use it for his bactrium that he is on as a preventative and you can choose many different flavors. On that website you can put in where you live and they will tell you a pharmacy that is nearest to you that provides this FlavorX service. It works great for this antibiotic - he just slurps it down. We did try it once for his steroid and it didnt' work so good, but you could at least call them and see if they do ADEKs in the flavorX way. Our insurance doesn't cover the cost of the flavorX ($4.00/bottle), but it was worth it not to have to crush a pill or hide the liquid in something else. Good luck in this, its tough. > How do you get a baby to take those? I have tried and tried and Patti won't take them. It doesn't matter what I hide them in either. I guess it isn't to them, but they don't have four small kids, one fixed income, two lengthy hospital stays to pay for (one Patti's, one mine), and on top of that extra formula to pay for boosted calories and copays on the insurance. I'm not griping about taking care of Patti. I'll do what I have to do to keep her well. I just hate when they imply that I should be able to afford another $15.00 a month. Assistance isn't an option for us. According to the powers that be we make to much for a family of 6. Get this, the amount we are over by is the exact amount we receive from the state in subsidy to care for our adoptive kids special needs. Man, it seems like they would make an exception for that amount. It isn't like it isn't all ready spent. And I can tell you every dime is spent on those kids. Our cars are old and falling apart and our house is too. AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGG!!! > > OK. I'm better now. I just needed to vent and give a primordial scream.
