_____________

I believe you can have a stool sample test for gluten antibodies.

You certainly have all the history and the characteristics in your

family to be at pretty high risk. I had anemia from age 19 or 20 and

had to take iron supplements for 30 years. No doctor ever thought

this was unusual. I had to take a lot of iron to keep from becomming

anemic. Taking iron itself makes you loose thyroid hormone that

would be reabsorbed from the intestinal track. Lots of thyroid

hormone is normally reabsorbed from the intestinal tract, about 1000

mcg a day, for reuse by the body. You must be actively eating wheat

for the test to work and I don't know how perfect it is at finding

them all. You can get it from Dr. Mark . He is a celiac

himself. Here is his website:

You may also be able to get it elswhere, like Great Smokies. I did

not test positive on the test from Dr. , because I had been

off of wheat for over 8 months when I took it. You can call him and

talk to him personally about the test and how good it is and how to

properly prepare for it. Once I stopped eating wheat, my anemia went

away in just two months after 30 years of taking Iron.

The antigliadin antibodies test is one way, but I am unfamiliar with the

other testing for this. I haven't had this testing either, bu it's one of

many that I know I need. My brother basically died of alcoholism, had

undiagnosed excruciating stomach pain all his life back to his teens,

emphysema, and diagnosed bipolar disorder. At one time, one doctor thought

that he had porphyria, but then another said that he didn't. Our families

have thyroid disease, mental disorders, etc.....He was never tested for

Celiac, I'm sure of it.

anemic since at least age 18, I'm 44 now. Had ulcers on and off, stopped

drinking in '85 I got smart fast, my dad drank, his mom, my moms dad, my 3

brothers, etc...

what it is Celiacs disease....We are Irish/English on Dads side,

French/Romanian on Mom's side. Dad died of Pancreatic cancer at age 50, his

dad died 2 weeks later of lung cancer, Moms side has diabetes, thyroid, and

obesity. Mom died this year at 69 of heart issues which she had for 20 years
