Guest guest
I have Crohn’s and experienced some die-off symptoms very early, a little before two weeks, actually. The new or renewed symptoms can be disconcerting. But I would encourage you to stick with it. If you don’t, you’ll have to start all over again. The diet is a healthy one; it’s not going to hurt you, and eventually the die-off will subside and you’ll get sorted out. I’ve also had cramps periodically, which I wasn’t having previous to the diet (just pain in my side and diarrhea.) You may need to back off a bit on whatever foods you added recently. Have you been able to determine if there’s any particular thing you’re eating that’s making it worse right now? Hang in there. n From: BTVC-SCD [mailto:BTVC-SCD ] On Behalf Of ronald.fiorillo Sent: Tuesday, April 07, 2009 12:12 PM To: BTVC-SCD Subject: Die off after 3 weeks?? Starting to worry the diet may not be working for me... I have been on the SCDiet for 3 1/2 weeks and I feel like I may be experiencing die off...at least I hope so! At about 2 weeks on the die I started getting a lot of cramps, which is not normally common for me. Around the 2 1/2 week marker I started having diarrhea like symptoms about 5 times a day, which is also not normal for me. The only regular symptom I had before starting the diet was a significant amount of blood always being present in my stool. From what I have read it seems way too early for me to be having die-off. I am starting to worry the diet may not be working for me. Please let me know if most people experience cramps when they have die-off and if you think I may actually be experiencing die-off very early on the diet. Guest guest
n, Thank you for responding. The only food I have introduced in addition to the intro diet is green beans. I definitely plan on sticking it out on the diet for the long term, it is just nice to get a little reassurance that I am doing alright. May I ask how long you have been on the diet and how you are doing now in relation to your Crohns symptoms?
