Hi again " mycatmiller " . Don't hesitate to ask any questions! We've

all been new to this before.

Selenium is a good one since it helps with T4 to T3 conversion.

Also, there is literature that suggests you need more Vitamin B's

when you optimize your thyroid with Armour. Also keep track of your

Ferritin levels (storage iron). And, I believe we mentioned

something else here before that we all need--anybody remember what

that was??

I also take minerals, anti-oxidants, coQ10, etc.

Good adrenal supplements are IsoCort (2.5 mg of cortisol per tablet)

and Nutr+Meds adrenal, which contains about 5 mg of cortisol per

tablet. Divide doses into 4 and space them evenly out throughout the

day. You can also use licorice root -1/4 teaspoon in a tea 4 times a

day evenly spaced throughout the day. This is roughly equivelent to

20 mg of Cortisone a day. Typical adrenal support prescribed by

doctors is 10 to 20 mg of cortisone per day. There are many herbs

that help build the adrenals also, such as Ashwaghanda, blupeurum,

Maca, and licorice root and gensing. If you do the cortisone route,

you must be regular about dosing and do must taper off them slowly

over a few weeks.

Thyroid controls the size of the adrenal gland and the output of

adrenal hormones. If thryoid is too low adrenal function is

impaired. Getting thryoid to the proper level helps the adrenals to

grow to normal size and put out proper hormone levels. The adrenals

take a lot longer to recover than you can immagine. They take from 4

months to 2 years to recover after getting thyroid adjusted right.

You can be on adrenal support for 2 years if needed.

To order Armour thyroid or a generic natural thryoid, try

MyRxForLess. To raise thyroid to find your optimum dose, simply

raise thryoid dose by 1/4 grain every two weeks to a month untill

you feel good. If you have adrenal fatigue, you may have to go much

slower - like 1/8th of a grian every 4 weeks or more. If adrenal is

low and you raise thyroid, you can get overdose symptoms. This is

because you must have adequate adrenal for the amount of thyroid.

Without it, thryoid builds up in the blood and cannot get into

tissues. It is impossible to overdose on anything less than about 4

grains. The healthy human thyroid makes 4-1/2 to 5 grains a day.

Anything less than that that you take, your own thryoid will drop

production by that much to keep blood levels normal and below 4-1/2

to 5 grains. If you have hyper symptoms on less than 4 grains, it is

probably caused by low adrenal.

The healthy adrenals produce 35 to 40 mg of cortisol a day. You

cannot overdose on adrenal support uless you exceed this level for

the same reason you can't overdose on thryoid unless you exceed 4-

1/2 to 5 grains. It is best to keep adrenal support at 20mg or below

to prevent your adrenals from becoming too dependent and to keep

them from becoming too weak from too much suppot. However, if you

get sick or have big stress while on adrenal support it is a good

idea to increase your dose to 30 mg and day for a few days to help

you recover. Adrenal demands can double in stress and illness.
