Hi,

I went to see a GI doc just to get checked out with the

constant abdominal distention. He gave me some sample meds – Amitiza –

which is supposed to help with bloating. I didn’t want to take it but

knew my husband would be upset if I didn’t so I took it and it did

nothing for me. I called the doc back and he said I can increase the dosage which

I don’t want to do. However, they also found blood in my stool and the

thinks it’s best if I get an x-ray of my stomach and small intestine.

I am not sure what to do. I am leaning towards waiting and

seeing if the other stool test reveals anything like parasites. On the other

hand I wonder if I should go ahead and get the x-ray. If I wasn’t paying

for everything out of pocket I would get it.
