Guest guest
I think the drug you are talking about is Rilutek (it also goes by Riluzole). Hope this is helpful. I forwarded this info to my Mom so she can ask my Dad's neurologist about this med. I will let you know what he says.
Guest guest
Hi All, I've seen a few people mention a drug that some MSA patients have tried that may slow the progress of the disease. It's something ALS patients use. Can't remember the name. Can someone help me? Also, does anyone find it helpful? Does it ever do harm? My dad was asking me about it. He wants to talk to his neurologist about it on Monday. Thanks! in OK __________________________________________________
Guest guest
, As far as I know, There is nothing that can slow the progress of MSA. If you find out anything about this treatment, PLEASE, by all means, post a message hack here as we all are very interested. Guest guest
Hi Bill. My name is le. My Dad has been diagnosed with MSA. I read a lot of the e-mail you send and it seems like you are extremely knowledgeable-particularly when it comes to stem cell research. I have a question for you. When I had my sons the offered me the opportunity to store their umbilical cords. As I understood it, they could harvest blood from the cord in the event the child might become ill in the future- i.e., bone marrow transplant ect. Recently, someone told my Mom that researchers think they may be able to use the cords to generate stem cells as well. Do you know anything about this? Thanks for letting me pick you brain! le in Louisville, KY

Guest guest
I posted a week or so ago about this. My mother Joyce (71, 11/00 died) took this but stopped after about 2 months, seeing no benefit. I am sure that was even too soon to tell if it WAS working. It was, I recall, expensive. Her doctor is right here in the US (NY). I posted his Web site, if you go into the archives. Otherwise, do a search for Dr. Fazzini -- he works in NYC and on Long Island. His Web site should mention Rilutek. Debbie Re: Rx Question... That is the medicine in the study being done (I think) in England.
