Guest guest
hugs. I dont have any suggestions sorry, but I do have hugs. Let me know if you want or need more ZOLOFT I haven't been on here for a few months, because I believed I had been cured, I had almost 5 weeks of no pain and then BAM, it came back with a vengence. I am o 50mg of zoloft, and my doctor doesn't want me to go up just yet. On monday I had terrible external itching, which is rare for me, so I took a diflucan and felt better by the next day. Since then, I now have terrible internal rectal and internal vaginal burning. In fact, my rectum is senstive to the touch. I was diagnosed with glabrata in june, took VFEND, and was better since then. In fact from june until monday was the longest period of time when I did not take an antifungal or antibacterial..I really thought I was getting better......I'm in so much pain right now, any suggestions anyone?**IF REPLYING TO THIS POST, PLEASE REMOVE ORIGINAL POST, THANKS**Our HOME page is http://groups.yahoo.com/group/VulvarDisordersto search our archives, files, articles, etc.***
Guest guest
I just looked up VFEND online...that is a no-fooling around drug. Can you get re-tested for atypical yeast? What about boric acid supposotories? They are supposed to be quite effective for atypical yeast. What does your doc say? > > I haven't been on here for a few months, because I believed I had been cured, I had almost 5 > weeks of no pain and then BAM, it came back with a vengence. Guest guest
I took Zoloft at 50mg for a while when I was starting what became effective treatment for my VVS. I also had been on the yeast and bacteria infection merry go round for a couple years as well. I can tell you that upping your dose of Zoloft wont help with the itching/burning if it is either yeast or bacteria, nor will it help if it is Lichen Sclerosis. I get rectal itching with vaginal itching still from time to time and as I am at a maintenance point in my treatment I just increase the frequency of my Estrace cream (at my doctors direction) to twice a day from once a day as needed until the itching subsides. My doctor told me that mild LS complicates the VVS I had surgery for and that I will always have to treat that to some degree. We believe that it is the LS that causes occasional rectal and vaginal itching. If I catch it right away it is nothing compaired to what I used to deal with before my vulvar vestibulectomy.
