Some doctors call this the " catch-up " growth -the growth that the child should have had but didn't due to caloric insufficiency. When the rapid growth advancement slows down, and the child goes back to a curve mimicing the " normal " growth curve, then the " catch-up " growth if finished. For children greater than 2-3 years old, this is when a pediatric endo will begin to consider GH.
