My first one. They called and said they saw a mass in my upper left breast and that they want to do another mamogram.I am so nervous. I hope it is a fibroid! Guest guest Posted November 20, 2006 Report Share Posted November 20, 2006 .... be cool. Often, during certain times in our cycles, there is swelling and dense tissue in the breasts. As the cycle progressess, this denseness often vanishes. If the mammogram was done during the fuller time of the cycle, they could be seeing something quite natural and not a dangerous mass. This has happened to me twice . Once I had surgery, way back in the 70's in my 20's when one of these densities didn't resolve itself through my cycle. It turned out to be blocked mammary glands which had built up cyst like material in the breast - and the gland itself had little black pellet like things in it - "stones" the doc called them - which had blocked the gland.It is terrifying - I know. I've done what you are doing. For sanity and safety sake, you might want to ask for needle biopsy of some of the tissue, or a breast tissue ultrasound.I will keep you in my thoughts - this is a tough time - but more often than not - there is no life threatening disease.Dustyblueeberri@... wrote: Well I had a mamogram a week ago.
