Hi everyone, I have an acquaintance who is very sick with pancreatitis. Her

name is Lynn and she has been in the hospital since the first of January.

She has had pneumonia and now she is developing blood clots in different

parts of her body. She is getting worse everyday. She is trying to get well

enough to have the pancreatectomy like I had. The C. T. Scans show that she

has a part of her pancreas shriveled. She has had many ercps and stints

which have made her worse. She definitely is going to have the surgery to

remove her pancreas as soon as possible. My question to you is this. A GI

doctor who I have had in the past and I think he is worthless and I believe

that he would do anything for his own gain and notoriety. He is planning on

doing another ercp tomorrow on Lynn and to me it is just for his benefit.

She is going to have another panc. attack. She always gets attacks with an

ercp. The attack will damage more of her islets and that is a big deal since

she is planning on having the pancreatectomy. In my opinion the last thing

she needs now is another ercp. She and her husband are not educated on

pancreatitis like we are and they just go along with what a doctor says. Why

have an ercp when they already know all about her pancreas and she is going

to have it removed anyway? She had her ercp by other doctors at other

hospitals. My question to all of you is should I call her husband and

express my feelings or should I stay out of it? I don't want to intrude in

their personal business but then again I feel that and ercp at this point is

such a big mistake. Please help. I want to do what is right for Lynn. I

feel that if I don't say anything to them then I am letting her go thru a

damaging procedure and if I say something about how I really know from

experience I might be butting in where I don't belong. Help! The ercp is in

the morning. Love, Shirley
