Guest guest
I fully intended to only be a lurker on this board, but I have posted some here and there and figured I might as well introduce myself. I am a stay at home mom to 2 little boys ages 2 and 1. They keep me very busy and it is a joy to be there mommy! Now the background on why I am here. I never had a weight problem until my early 20s. After much effort on figuring out why I suddenly gained forty pounds over a 2 year period this is what I figured out: 1. I had always been extremely active, and I also ate a lot. A few years after getting out of highschool I married (which suddenly we quit doing all of the active things we used to) and got an office job. But I didn't change my eating habits to accomodate the fact that I was moving a LOT less. 2. I went through a lot of emotional turmoil trying to get pregnant - let's just say emotional eating! 3. about the time I decided to do something about that extra 40 pounds I did get pregnant, and then when my first son was 3 months old I was pregnant again. (Funny after the first took 3 years to conceive!) Luckily with both babies I gained only about 15 pounds and lost that almost immediately. Anyway, from that all time high of 170 I have come down to 148. I am excited but a little nervous at this point. Why? Because I have come this far before. Then people start noticing. They say how great I look and then almost before I know it I am overeating again. I am doing better with WW because I KNOW exactly how much I should eat vs. how much I am eating. No guesswork. I did have a small setback last week, but yesterday was a perfect WW day and I fully intend to keep going. Also I want to say how much I admire all of you who run races, etc. Right now I have a " real " exercise routine for the first time in my life. I feel so good about that. Sorry this got so long.
