Lou, does Medicare pay 80% and your supplemental insurance pays

the other 20%? Since I went on Medicare in August, my drug store, CVS,

has had me so confused about my testing strips. The first two refills,

I didn't have to pay anything, but they went through on the insurance

instead of Medicare. The insurance also counted the amount toward my

deductible. So I got free strips and also got some off of my

deductible, and I still haven't paid anything.

I told the pharmacist about it, but it still seems all confused.

Usually I don't have to pay anything, but once I had to pay about $13.

In January, Medicare didn't pay for the strips I got because I hadn't

met my $100 deductible, but I still didn't pay anything. I'm not sure

if CVS is getting reimbursed for the strips or not. Maybe I'll have to

start ordering them from Wilford Brimley, LOL. Sue

Even though I updated my living will and got it notorized today and to my

doctor's

office for my record, I don't have my right ins. paper handy. But when I first

started I

got supplies via my supplemental ins. and they paid some. But the doctors

perscription

determines the amount allowed and I think 80% and 20% but I might be wrong. The

best

thing to start with is to get what you want from the doctor, then use one of

thos

companies who send you new supplies every three months. They have you sign a

paper each

time but they go by the doctor's input through email/fax?

I don't know who Wilford Brimley is. But I did better going through Medicare. In

fact,

the 2nd. time my supp. ins. paid less. I was using the pharmacy by the clinic.

Now as I

said I use one of those companies that send your stuff through the mail. Hope

this

helps.
