Dear All

Thankyou for your messages of welcome. It has come as a huge relief

finding this web site.

I have tried to read as much as possible, but there are several areas

I dont understand, or maybe Im to worried and anxious to be making

much sense of it.

Liam was born at 38weeks(5/6/01). He was 2.015kg, 42cm and head

circumfrence 34cm.

He had a low birth weight, decreased birth length, triangular shaped

face, normal head size appearing large because of weight and length,

broad forehead and asymetry(right leg bigger than left). I think most

of you will agree that although Liam doesnt have a positive diagnosis

of RSS, he certainly has many of the features.

My major concern is what happens next? Do these children develop poor

appetites or do they start out that way. At the moment Liam is breast

fed and going onto bottles shortly. I worry that he isnt getting

enough or not taking as much as he should, His aveage weight gain is

65g a week. He now weight 3.2kg at 3 1/2 months.

I also wonder about thye hypoglycemia, Liam wakes overnight quite

sweaty and feeds at least 3 times overnight (not getting much sleep).

I guess you all understand these feelings of not knowing, and what I

really need to understand is what to expect in the first year.

Liam is a very happy baby most of the time, I would like to think it

was just the size thing we have to deal with, but I feel there is

more to it.

Please excuse my ramblings.

Any advise is greatly appreciated

Thanks

Jody Gough
