Guest guest
Debbie, There is so much information available for you to read before making your decision. One thing I will tell you is that you can't take the word of anyone as to whether the shot your child is about to receive has thimerosal (50% mercury) in it or not. If you decide to give the shot, ask to read the package insert yourself to confirm that thimerosal is not used as a preservative. Personally even that wouldn't assure me as testimony from vaccine manufactures has revealed that the package inserts are some times incorrect, and furthermore even in shots that truthfully do not contain thimerosal as a preservative, evidence has revealed that thimerosal is still being used in the manufacturing process and as such does not have to be listed on the package insert and they can still claim the product is " thimerosal free " . Also, even without thimerosal as a preservative, formaldehyde, ethylene glycol (anti-freeze) and aluminum among other thing are added. You can have blood titers drawn for both of your children to test for immunity to the diseases the " boosters " are alleged to prevent. You can also file an exemption form with your children's school:(www.access1.net/via/STATE/allstates.htm) Also, the age range for the booster you mention for your son is 4 -6 years old, so if after making an informed decision, you elected to give him the booster, why not give him every fighting chance by waiting until he was six, instead of doing it a four. No matter what you do, there is no thimerosal free Tetanus shot, so even if you took the Pertussis out, your child would still be exposed to thimerosal in the Td portion. DTP is certainly more dangerous than DTaP. Also, the CDC guidelines recommend a booster dose of Td (tetanus & diphtheria only) at age 11-12 and then every ten years after that, so why are they wanting to give your daughter DTaP? In fact, on page 142 of Dr. Cave's book it says, " According to the CDC children who meet any of the following criteria should not get the DTP or DTaP vaccine: Children who are younger than six weeks old or OLDER THAN SEVEN YEARS of age. Only the DT portion should be given without the Pertussis portion AFTER the age of seven. So again, what are they wanting to give your daughter the DTaP??? You should read the book, " What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Children's Vaccinations " by Dr. Cave. She takes each vaccine one by one and tells the pros and cons of getting the shot. You should also pull up Dr. Megson, M.D.'s web site. She specifically treats children damaged by the DTP and DTaP vaccines. Another must read, " A Shot in the Dark " wherein Dr. Barbara Loe Fisher reveals the story of the DTP vaccine. Dr. Cave also gives a list of things you can do to help lower the risks of adverse reactions, such as never give more than one shot in one visit so as not to overwhelm the immune system and also so that if your child does have a reaction, you will know to what; don't vaccinate if your child has recently been sick or currently has a fever, runny nose, etc...; she recommends extra Vitamin A in the form of CLO; Vit. C every day and (on the day of the shot and the day after, 300 mg. twice daily for toddlers) so you'd need to adjust the doses for you children; single-dose vials are preferred over multi-dose vials and make sure the nurse or doctor shakes the vial b/4 drawing out the vaccine so all of the contents are evenly distributed; don't vaccinate if your child has ever had a vaccine reaction. Some websites to visit so you can " Educate Before You Vaccinate " : www.vacinfo.org www.vaccinationnews.com www.vacineinfo.net www.vaclib.org www.thinktwice.com lists specific DTaP adverse events www.909shot.com I think your son is at greater risk of regressing after the vaccine, than you daughter. Boys seems to be affected four times more often than girls and he already has Apraxia, Hypotonia and Sensory Issues. I'm going to forward to you a post from just this week on another board about a beautiful four year old girl who was described as funny, sweet, full of life, with " sensory integration disorder " who, within 24 hours of receiving the DTP and IPV booster vaccines was screaming & crying non-stop, couldn't focus/see straight, having fever, chills, ... Her Mom did not giver her the MMR vaccine b/c as a baby she had a reaction to some eye drops, but the Pediatrician assured her it would be fine to give the DTP and IPV! I can't tell you how many posts like this I've read. In fact, just last month I attended a " Do No Harm " Vaccine Seminar in Stuart, Florida with Dr. Yazbak, M.D. where he discussed boosters as the " tragic second hit " and I personally heard mothers speak whose children were injured by vaccines, one Mom's daughter died at the age of four. I saw before and after pictures of children who were fine, but who regressed into Autism after their four year boosters and you could clearly see from the pictures that these children were fine b/4 the shots. Good luck. Didn't mean to write a book, I just wish with everything in me that someone had told me to research vaccines before I fully vaccinated my 2 and 3 year old. -KIM [ ] Vaccine Booster Shots > Just a question about booster shots . . . > > > > My 12 year old (no speech issues, etc.) daughter is due for her booster shot > of DPT this week. Guest guest
Hi My dd at 6 months recieved the DTaP and had a body wide reaction, high fever which subsided when I gave her tylenol. My dd was and still did develope typically until her 13th month when chronic ear infections set in and then the infamous " No talking " at 20 months (Maybe 10 words) and the ever so dreaded words of verbal apraxia given to my dd at 41 months. My dd's Doc told me that she could wait until she was 6 to get the rest of her boosters because she does have a speech disorder, and if your Doc wont grant you this I know that you can sign waivers that state vaccines are against your religion, but that is a whole other issue. Talk to your Doc and tell him your concerns, forget about the nurses and the receptionists talk straight to the source. I do know that you can request to see the box that the vaccine comes in when and if you do get his boosters and if you see thimersol, flormeldahide of alumanim then don't do it. As for your 12 yo, I think that the older the child/teen is if there is a trace of anything it is very unlikely to harm their brain as it would the brain of a smaller child. I hope this helps. Good Luck!!
Guest guest
Can I ask a question... did you continue to vaccinate your dd after that DTaP reaction? Was anything done differently? Guest guest
Hi Pam, Yes I did because I wasnt fully aware of what the vaccines were causeing in some children. I did seperate the MMR shot which she never did get the measles part of it because MERCK ran out of it (My guess is because peolpe nationwide were seperating this particular shot). The MMR seperated was her last shots. I thaught I was going to have a fight on my hands at her 4th birthday but her Doc simply said wait, which was music to my ears. Best of luck. Guest guest
Hi, When our NT second son was due his MMR booster at around 2, I got the doctor to give me a prescription to have his measles antibody levels checked (apparently if he had measles antibodies he would most likely also have antibodies against the other two). Yes it meant having a blood draw done (not much fun), but the result showed that his antibody levels were high enough and that he did not need the extra booster shot to give further immunity. While you might not want to do a blood draw, for me it convinced the Dr that the shot wasnt necessary - as well as convincing my husband. From what I understand, booster shots are not necessarily needed as some high percentage of kids are covered by the first shot. But for those kids that dont get immunity from the first, the booster is " needed " . Doctors find it easier just to give the boosters rather than check if they are actually required in the first place. So you could try this, or else just do as Tracey says and politely decline. > > Hi Guys, > > We really need some advise. > > Like many parents of autistic kids, we do believe that there is a link > between the MMR vaccine and autism.
