My myo is scheduled for next week in Boston but I somehow managed to

come down with a sinus infection, cough and laryngitis about five days

ago. I did go to the doctor and get a decongestant and also an

antibiotic and am feeling better, but I'm not 100%.

All the travel arrangements have been made as well as all other

arrangements for work, kenneling my dogs, etc. Now I don't know what

to do. My family doctor said they definitely will not operate if I am

congested. As I said, I am feeling better but still have a cough, am

slightly congested and have lost my voice. I do have until next

Sunday to recuperate but don't really know how to determine if I'm

well enough to have the surgery. I sure don't want to have to change

plans now but don't want to fly to Boston only to find out they won't

do the surgery. Any suggestions?

Hi ,

Well, you say you have until next Sunday? And you are on an antibiotic? You

say you are starting to feel a little better. I'd say, that you are on the

road to recovery and you will be able to procedure with the surgery.

Maybe you are just a little anxious. On top of not feeling well. Cause you

made all of these arrangements.

Best to you,

W.

Why not have a chat with doctors there or where you live about it,

by email, phone or visit? Check with them you're using the right

sort of food/medicine/lozenges to fix the problem.

Definitely talk to your doctors in Boston (which hospital will you be

in? I was at Brigham & Women's). If you're only slightly congested

now, you'll probably be fine, but I'm sure they will check and double-

check you to make sure. Could you have your local doctor " make the

call " on, say, Friday by checking your congestion level then?
