Guest guest
Congrats on Manju's pred wean! Whenever my dose drops I get a bit shaky for the first 3-4 days, my heart seems to race a bit, and I don't sleep much. After the 3-4 days everything settles back to normal. I hope Manju's taper goes smoothly, but if he has some sleep problems or shakiness over the next few days it could be caused by the tapering of the pred. I hope they are able to find out what is causing the red eye problems. Prednisone at high doses can mask so many things that sometimes it's hard for them to make a proper diagnosis. How is his protein spill now? Thanks for the update! Amy G. Update Hi All, Update on Manju Our Neph reduced the dosage to 80mg from 100 mg pred every other day,, Great news for us, but should see how it acts on Manjus body... keeping my fingers crossed And also our neph too was clueless about Manjus red eye on every other day without pred,, infact he showed us how cataract is caused and Manjus redness is no way related to cataract. And our doc was too excited about a paper released by American Kidney Assoc which has found some promising facts that pred is indeed good on the IgAN patients, he will give us next time sorry Priya - Sorry I couldnot ask our neph about the protein issue you were asking y'day, really sorry dear,, many of our questions were not properly answered y'day, probably first time I saw our neph to be in a little hurry,, And we went to the ophthalmologist today. Manju actually had seen him same time last yr due to some allergies in his eye, probably its the same thing that has repeated this yr, infact pred might have kept it less intense which other wise was bad last yr.That could be the reason. Last yr when Manju had seen him Manju had no IgAN( I mean was not Dxed), but this yr we gave him list of drugs Manju takes and his current state, kind of weird feeling that within an yr our lives has changed so much. The ophthalmologist was well informed and he gave us suggestions keeping an eye on Manjus sugar, he was good, Also we have to see him again after 2 or 3 weeks to find out what is causing Manjus allergies,, so kind of relieved that its not pred which is causing this, Thats about Manju, Thanks for listening, I am relieved ,, wanted to share with you guys, Aruna __________________________________________________

Guest guest
Anita, That's what I thought. A two pound gain pails in comparison to the worries of the last few weeks. I will get back on track and things will be fine. Some of it could be fluid retention since my kidneys aren't functioning at optimum right now anyway. Thanks for all the support and encouragement. Guest guest
Thank you to all you ladies for the well wishes. I go for my genetic test results tommarow. Someone told me that I have to try and look at it this way... my body already knows the results. I am just going to get armed with the knowledge to make the best choice for me. I plan on just continuing to live life and if the cancer retuirns I will deal with it. I think it is more important for me to know the results so if I am able to have children I will know the best way to protect them from this. The fertility tests I think will be more of an emotional ride for me. I love kids, kids tend to love me too and I have ALWAYS wented to have kids. I want to be able to make my boyfreind a daddy some day, I want to make my parents grandparents some day, I WANT TO BE A MOMMY!! Just knowing a may not be able to do any of the above may just send me over the edge. I know I can adopt, or get a serroget mother, but there is nothing like you and yuor significant other creating a child together. I may be jumping the gun here, maybe everything will be ok. Guess I am just scared. ) Anyways, I will be sure to keep you all posted. Thanks again for the support. What a wonderful group of people!!!! Guest guest
Char, I would think that the surgeon will more than likely do a biopsy. Ask what kind of biopsy. Can it be done at a surgery outpatient center, or at the hospital as an outpatient. Will you need someone to bring you so you don't have to drive home. Any special instructions after getting home. From there he can get more info and proceed from there. I will keep you in my prayers. I am already freaking out and meserible and I havent heard anything yet. I had my mammogram done today and my ultrasound. I asked a few questions completely aware that they can tell me anything at the moment. But what I found out is this: I went in for a large lump in my left breast. There was swelling, outter redness and sorness with it. I know I also have that Fibrocytic something...you know the cyst you get that are tender with your periods? Well anyway, doing the ultra sound I had many of those as usual. What I was told was this... that I have a couple solid masses in my RIGHT breast, but they cant be certain until they see a previous mammogram/ultrasound to see if they havent changed sense my last check up. But the LEFT breast ( the one I came in for), I was told had blood flow to it, and something about the edges of it? She (a doctor I spoke with after the techician) said that that is a concern. So, now I have the concern with the Left breast I came in for and now two areas on my Right breast. This is so much to deal with. I see the surgeon on Wednesday for more information. Is there anything I need to check into before I go, choices, questions? Any comments will help char ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ No virus found in this incoming message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
