Guest guest
That just ticks me OFF!!! This women has enough brain functions to keep vital systems working. She's not on a vent, she can breathe on her own, her heart beats with out assistance, and the only outside support she is receiving to stay alive is a feeding tube...I think it is CRUEL and UNUSUAL PUNISHMENT to remove her feeding tube and leave her to die of starvation!!! This truely saddens me. I think this is truely a selfish act on her husband's part. I guess this story has always bothered me because my son has a feeding tube because he can not and does not know how to eat (however, is starting to make progress, YEAH) OMG, if my 3yo son had his tube removed he would surely die of starvation; But, this does not make his life any less worth living. Maybe I'm just taking this too personally...Of course I worked last night and have not slept properly either. Guest guest
can you imagine if every feeding tube dependent person had their tube removed, because it was " against their will to live? " Someone has to step in here. It's infuriating and absolutely unconscionable that a HUSBAND who once loved this woman, would not only want her to SUFFER through such a horrible death, but would have withheld therapy or any life saving efforts. This just never sat right with me. ~k Re: [ ] Sad day for those following Terri Schiavo That just ticks me OFF!!! This women has enough brain functions to keep vital systems working. Guest guest
Hopefully, the family/state of Florida will be able to find another way to stop this murder. I doubt the court agreed that Terri should die, just that the way Gov Bush went about it was wrong. I question the motives of a 'husband' (and I use that term so lightly) who has another family, with another woman, and stands to gain insurance $$$. Terri has been lingering for over a decade, right? Why didn't this fight start then? I guess the new honey wasn't in the picture. Let her parents have their child. If this guy truly loved his wife, he wouldn't be sleeping with another woman. Divorce her and let people who love Terri take care of her. My opinion. Pam > I can't believe what I just read..... > > > > > > Fla. If he has chosen to move on with his life, you're right. Divorce her, and let her parents care for her. To remove that tube IS clearly murder.... Something for us all to think about. Another reason to make sure we all have a notarized will. ~k [ ] Re: Sad day for those following Terri Schiavo Hopefully, the family/state of Florida will be able to find another way to stop this murder. Guest guest
I do agree that there is no reason to discnnect the feeding tube, but the law was wrong. The only reason the law was passed was politics and not compassion by any lawmakers. The husband probably feels he is doing it for the right reasons, but it is probably time for him to stop the fight. He does not gain financially if she dies, because he used any money he won in lawsuits to fight and remove Teri's feeding tube. If the feeding tube is removed, she most likely will not feel any hunger or pain. She definitely feels no emotions, has no thoughts and will never recover. Her CAT scan was shown on Larry King Live a while ago and it shows her brain is atrophied(sp?) that it is shrinking and now more spinal fluid than acutal brain tissue fills her skull. I actually hope that if I am in her shoes, that someone pulls my feeding tube. But no one knows for sure if Teri felt that way or not, so it probably safer to leave it in. --Sange > I can't believe what I just read..... > > > > > > Fla. Guest guest
Karyn.... What really makes me mad about this " husband " is he is not honoring his marriage vows.... " for sickness and health " . She has a family that LOVES her and wants to keep her alive as long as possible. What he wants to do is murder. I know that when my dad had his multi strokes, my mother put him in a convelescent home to care for him instead of having in home support, because she could not stand to have a " sick/disabled " person in the home. Sounds he is like the same kind of person as my mom.
