Guest guest
Hi , What antibiotics are you taking? Did your pain increase? Whenever I take antibiotics I flare so badly I need morphine. That is why I am so hesitant to try Lyme treatment. I just herx so badly. Hope you are doing alright. Best of luck with the treatment and drops. I will pray that you won't get yeast problems. The difficulty I have is that it is hard to know if it is yeast or die off. BTW, what antifungals are you taking? THANKS so much!!! Love, Sandi Cheap Talk? Check out Yahoo! Guest guest
Just an update... I decided to purchase some of the samento by nutramedix and try it to see what kind of reaction I have to the cat's claw and if it helps... I'll wait until Sunday to start the drops and will keep you posted. : ) I know there's a whole protocol for lyme too but since I didn't test pos for this I thought... well, I'll call it a medical experiment to see how I react to the cat's claw. And, I figure it couldn't hurt since it boosts the immune system just in general. Also, I signed up for a biology class for spring term at the college my husband teaches at here in SC... I get a free class per semester bc he is on the faculty so I thought it could be fun and I'm getting very interested in all of this lately. : ) And... I talked to my allergist's office and made an appt in Dec to get retested for food allergies including milk, eggs, soy, wheat, yeast, etc... the doctor's office thinks my insurance will pay for it since it has been 9 years since I tested for food allergies the first time. So, that should be a big help. And, I'm really starting to wonder if I might be allergic to the soy since I've replaced milk with soy milk and drink it most every day now. Re: Dr. Metzger--Sally Hi Sally--I would love to talk to you more....I saw Dr Metzger about 3 weeks ago. I am slowly getting started with my treatments. I started antibiotics 1 1/2 wks ago. I too am very, very scared about taking them long term as I have had lots of yeast problems. She has me also taking antifungals so I guess theoretically I shouldn't worry but it still makes me nervous. I am also allergic to everything.....milk, corn, soy, eggs, wheat, oats, yeast, rice, chicken, tomatoes, oats and almonds. My enterolab test was positive.I also tested positive for allergy to candida, lots of molds, seratonin and dust mites. I am starting my desensitization drops this week. Were you allergic to any of these things and have you been taking drops? So you have been using cats claw and it's not helping much? Did you ever Herx from it? Guest guest
The hives do sound like an actual allergic reaction to me... to the herbs, I mean. I think the herx reaction is basically the lyme symptoms exacerbated - stuffy head, headaches, sick stomach, rashes, etc. But, I've never heard of hives being a herx reaction. Re: Dr. Metzger--Sally Can y'all tell me more about this "herx" reaction? I know it is a bacteria or fungal die-off and it can make you feel sick, right? I was seeing a naturpath and she had me on a bunch of stuff ($400 worth of stuff), saventaro (cat's claw) included. I was covered in hives about a week later that I attbuted to the cat's claw, I am allergic to a lot of grasses and weeds so it's not a far stretch to think I could be allergic to herbs, too. Anyways, the naturopath said it was a "die-off" reaction but it was SO CLEARLY hives that I didn't go back to her. The reaction was so bad I could have had my lungs be involved and that was scary. Anyways...what happens for a herx reaction?>> Hi ,> > What antibiotics are you taking? Did your pain increase? Whenever I take antibiotics I flare so badly I need morphine. Guest guest
Hi, I feel the herx reaction for me is a flare up of symptoms. That means my v pain gets much worse - to the point I need morphine. I would only think severe hives would be a sign of Herx if hives went along with your symptom picture. Is it possible that your body could have been perceiving the extra load of toxins as an allergen? Maybe. That is what makes this herx thing so difficult. Whenever my symptoms worsen like that I give up and here I am still stuck and disabled after 10 years of false starts. Guest guest
Hi , So you are taking Doxy, Sporanox and AMphotericin B...anything else like Cat's Claw? Did she put you on a cholesterol med to help with the dieoff? My doc said he would do that. , do you usually flare with meds like these? I have been there...in the ER begging for morphine just b/c of the antibiotics. Then I always QUIT and never get cured! This is my greatest fear. I wish someone could put me in a coma and treat me with the antibiotics. Do you have any other dieoff symptoms? Has the dieoff been getting better? Are you confident that it is just dieoff? What does Dr. M say? I am not doing the antibiotics yet as you know but am doing a whole bunch of other things to increase my immune system. I am also taking ARgentyn 23 a colloidal silver that warns of dieoff on the bottle. Yesterday my left side ached so badly and felt very swollen and kind of bruised. Sure enough, when I looked the mucous membrane was terribly swollen. I can only imagine this is toxins. I have had many times lately when there was no swelling there at all and thus no pain. Unfortunately there was pain and swelling somewhere else. Mine is 24/7 but it shifts around with the swelling. I pray that the dieoff goes away today for you. I am extremely interested in your progress b/c I am NEXT UP!!! If I know I only have 2 weeks of Hell to go through and then I'll be gradually out of this nightmare I'd do it. 6 months of extreme Hell and I'd have to think about it. More than that and I would look for pain control measures that don't address the cause. Please keep me posted . I will be thinking of you and anxiously awaiting word that the exacerbation of dieoff is over and you are on your way to recovery. ALso, let me know if you would like more info on the meds to control dieoff. If Dr. M gives you any advice on how long to expect the dieoff, please pass that on! Many prayers for your renewed health!
