Guest guest
So, I tried to make 2 qts. of nutmilk (almond) yogurt yesterday, and I mixed it up two times during the process (not 3 as recommended by Donna's recipe previously posted -- I mixed at approx 3 hrs and 7 hours after starting -- don't know if this made a difference.) Also, I don't follow her nutmilk recipe, (I use a traditional " raw foodie " recipe which is not recommended for SCD, but since my son doesn't have serious IBD, just food intolerances, we haven't been 100% SCD for him, and he's doing really well with the modifications.) Anyway, it was still pretty watery, and after dripping, I was left with about a cup of yogurt -- is this typical? I had hoped it would yeild more...I will definitely try again with more exacting detail to the original recipe, but I just want to know how much is typically. (Oh, and when I poured the yogurt out into the drip bag, I only poured off the " cream " from the top, the rest was purely water, so it may have yeilded another 1/4 c. at the most if I had poured it all in...) Thanks, SCD on and off 4+ yrs CD 25+ yrs, ileostomy 4 yrs. -- no meds, using homeopathy, supplements Mom to , (age 27 mos.) SCD since 2/08 due to food intolerances -- modified SCD since 8/
