Guest guest
Hi there, I have been faithfully sticking to the SCD Diet since Sept 2008 when I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease. While on the SCD I stopped passing blood and I started getting some firm BM's (after 3 years of D), but I wasn't able to progress past pecanbread's stage 1/2 without symptoms getting worse. An MD who is interested in alternative medicine had me do a Metrametrix GIFx test which indicated that I had an issue with yeast, so I began a 6 week course of Diflucan (an antifungal) and limited foods that support yeast. Almost immediately all D stopped and I have had firm BM's for teh last 3 weeks. I've also been able to slowly add more vegetables without having a reaction. This is the most amazing progress I've seen in my Crohn's since first getting sick almost 4 years ago. I'm not sure if they D will return when I stop taking Diflucan, but I'm hopeful that I will now be able to progress to a more complete version of the SCD. Has anyone else had dramatic reduction in symptoms while on Diflucan? I seem to be having a bit more gas and bloating than usual and I'm wondering if this is a side effect of the Diflucan.
