Guest guest
I commit to sending this letter to at least one healthcare practitioner. Maybe if we each sent at least one letter, then more women would not suffer AND we could get closer to a cure??? Anybody else with me on this one? Guest guest
I am going to send it to the gyn that told me I had a bacterial infection but could not find any evidence via cultures or wet mount slides...she basically just threw medicine at me to get me out of her office. Also to my old primary care provider who did basically the same thing. And also to the nurse-manager of my ob-gyn's office. I know her personally (she's my friend's aunt) and maybe she could set up a grand rounds (basically physician in-service training) on it for the ob-gyns at her office. Guest guest
Hi Lindsey: I sent a letter to my Gen Practitioner once I was diagnosed. The letter was provided by The Vulvar Foundation, I think. Luckily I went back to my former OB/GYN and she actually is familiar with it. I was very, very lucky to get a diagnosis with Dr. #2 - even though ultimately it is probably primarily caused by my Lyme. >

Guest guest
According to the American College of Obestricians and Gynecologists (and yes, they also made some pamphlets on the subject of vulvodynia) the figure of women with respect to vulvodynia is more like 16 million women. I was surprised when I heard this to be the case but it makes sense b/c the causes of vulvodynia are so varied.
