Guest guest
help I cannot read tiny grey on yellow. please please please change your stationary or maybe send out as plain text. thanks Please help I guess I might as well get it all out. (If you all don't mind listening) I was scheduled for my surgery on January 23, 2001. My surgeons name--Dr. Mustafa Hares. The hospital--North Oakland Medical Center. Here is what happened to the best of my knowledge; In October, the hospital canceled all Bariatric surgery, for some unknown reason. One rumor is that it had something to do with the way they were billing it. The other reason is that there were certain other doctors, from another hospital, that had started performing surgeries at North Oakland, that the administration did not want there. After canceling the WLS', the head administrator vetoed the decision, and Dr. Hares was back in business. Is everyone following me so far? On Thursday, January 11, 2001, the head administrator, who by the way, advocated WLS, resigned! As of Friday, January 12, all surgeries were off! Needless to say, I'm very upset and depressed. Any ideas out there? I was so excited. Finally, after years of suffering, I saw a light at the end of the tunnel. Now, I feel as though that tunnel has collapsed and I being buried alive. Guest guest
My 9 year old daughter is having a bad flare(definately not die-off). We've been on scd for a few months and have done okay. But right now she's having a severe flare that i'm sure has to do with tree pollen. I think that's why the diet isn't working right now because I can't eradicate the cause of her body attacking itsself. What medications would you put your daughter on if it were you? I don't know what to do.... Thanks, Kathy
Guest guest
Hi Kathy, I deal with awful seasonal allergies. I too had a roller coaster ride. How long do her seasonal allergies last? Also, do you find her eating dairy makes it worse? I cut out all dairy especially cheese during allergy season. Some people use compounded Claritin or Zurtec. I use compounded Allegra, Patanol Eye drops and even Nasonex nasal spray (when I am beyond desperate) Vitamin C and Quercitin are good but should only be taken when significant healing has taken place. So that may not be the greatest option right now! Her immune system is in hyper drive due to the allergies which -always- activates the Crohn's for me. Amazingly, some people on this diet- their allergies go away with time too. That is totally something to hope for!! Good luck and if it is really bad maybe you need to see an allergist. Guest guest
Hi, I am on LDN and find it very helpful. LDN (Low Dose Naltrexone) is good for Auto-Immune disease. The side-effects are few like some get sleep disturbances in the begining, this usually adjusts with time. LDN seems to be much more beneficial on a no yeast/low carb diet. So with SCD it is like a perfect combo really. Some people get more side-effects (such as myself) if I can even call it that. If a person has a Thyroid problem often times since the immune system is being modulated, the immune system seems to somewhat regulate. This regulating causes some of us with Thyroid issues to have some problems which has effected my hormonal system- this does not happen to most. So my Thyroid meds constantly need to be adjusted. To say LDN has no side-effects is misleading. I just think the side effects are mild and tame comparing to regular big pharma drugs and it is not dangerous. People with Lyme Disease (such as myself again) can have a very hard time adjusting to LDN. It has been quite miraculous for my Crohn's.
