Guest guest
Okay, folks... we're seeing lots of recommendations for non-SCD diet stuff here, so I'd like to ask you to remember that this is an SCD list. Acid/ Alkaline, Rotation, etc, can all be useful tools, but there's no point in getting snarled up in something which is not part of the basic SCD. There's enough to learn when starting SCD. I can handle the notion of lower fructose fruits and vegetables, because that's in line with " eat what you tolerate, and hold off on what you don't yet tolerate. " I don't have a problem with the GAPs diet because that's a form of SCD. I only have issues with it when what's recommended is not SCD, such as certain probiotics. I also, personally, prefer to eat organic when I can, and definitely not irradiated if I can, but I also recognize the limitations of our budget -- there are people who have gotten well on ordinary grocery store meat and produce. Although Weston-Price, in common with just about everyone, calls the liquid which can be drained off yogurt " whey, " it isn't. It's water of hydrolysis. There shouldn't be any difference between eight hour yogurt and 24-hour yogurt for " whey. " Sauerkraut is really high fiber, and many of us cannot tolerate that much fiber in the initial stages of the diet. In addition, sauerkraut has lots of beneficial bacteria, but if you dump too many in with a full portion, it can cause issues, too. There is such a situation as " too much of a good thing. " So, you start with small portions of it. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
